Thank you all for such a warm and hospitable welcome! I am so happy to be joining Tehachapi Unified School District as your new Interim Superintendent and I am looking forward to the great work we will do together over the next several months.

 

I have been an educator for about 27 years now. I started as a High School Science teacher in the Antelope Valley, then became an Assistant Principal at Mojave High, then back to the Antelope Valley Union High School District as a Vice Principal for about 9 more years.  After that, I went to Greenfield in Monterey County as a High School Principal for 6 years, then on to Salinas Union High School District to work in the District Office as a Human Resources Director.  Finally, I spent the last 3 years as the Executive Director of Human Resources at Soledad Unified School District in Monterey County.

 

I look forward to learning about all of the great things happening here in TUSD and continuing the good work that has begun.  I have already started to hold meetings with different stakeholder groups, including Principals, Trustees, CSEA Leaders, and District Department Administrators.  I also have site visits and walkthroughs scheduled, along with meetings with TAT Leaders, and I will try to attend some Parent Teacher Group meetings as well.  I welcome you to join me at one of our upcoming monthly “Sippin’ with the Supe” gatherings at Kohnen's Bakery.
