In an effort to address the before and after school needs of parents in the community, the Tehachapi Unified School District provides Extended Daycare services at all of its elementary schools, Golden Hills, Cummings Valley, and Tompkins, and for students Transitional Kindergarten through Fifth Grade

 

The Extended Daycare is a self-supporting program that offers a safe and healthy environment for students before and after school. The staff at each center is committed to providing quality care, supervision, and activities for all children enrolled in the program. Participating parents and children should recognize their responsibilities in making this program successful.

 

Each child who attends the Extended Daycare should be willing to participate in planned indoor and outdoor activities. These activities will be crafts, games, sports, etc., appropriate for the age of the child. Each Daycare strives to create a sense of “belonging”. The Extended Daycare is an important part of these children’s school life. Participating families need to be willing to work with and to communicate with the Extended Daycare staff. All students must be potty trained and able to listen, follow directions, and comply with the program environment independently. All students must function well in a group setting.

6:00 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. & 3:26 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. @ Cummings Valley Extended Day Care

6:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. & 3:17 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. @ Tompkins Extended Day Care

6:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. & 3:06 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. @ Golden Hills Extended Day Care
